مايكل نبيل، ناشط ومدوِّن مصري اتقبض عليه من بيته ليلة ٢٨ مارس واتحكم عليه امبارح (١٠ ابريل) أمام محكمة عسكرية، وفي غياب محاميه، بالحبس ٣ سنوات.
خطيئته؟ مقال على مدونته الخاصة يفنّد فيه ممارسات الجيش من بداية الثورة.
التهمة الموجهة إليه؟ إهانة المؤسسة العسكرية!
مايكل عضو في حركة معارضة للتجنيد الإجباري. شخص مؤمن بالسلام بوجه عام وله مواقف –من حقنا نتفق أو نختلف عليها –تدعو للسلام مع اسرائيل بوجه خاص. السلطة دايما بتختار ضحايا للقضايا اللي زي دي يكون مش سهل يتعاطف معاها الرأي العام. فاكرين كريم عامر؟ وقتها ودلوقتِ، الرسالة واحدة: ان كل المصريين تحت الرقابة وكلنا حرياتنا قيد المساومة.
كمواطنة مصرية وإنسانة مؤمنة بحرية الرأي والتعبير، أعلن –
تضامني مع مايكل نبيل؛
رفضي للمحاكمات العسكرية للمدنيين؛
إصراري على حق كل مواطن في المجاهرة برأيه حتى وإن تعارض هذا الرأي مع ما تتفق عليه الأغلبية.
كتعبير عن تضامني مع مايكل، نقلت المقال اللي هو محبوس بسببه هنا. اللي مقتنع اننا من حقنا ننتقد انتهاكات وأخطاء المجلس الأعلى للقوات المسلحة، يا ريت يعمل زيي.

On the night of March 28th, Maikel Nabil, Egyptian activist and blogger, was arrested from his home, and last night (April 10), he was sentenced in front of martial court, in the absence of his lawyers, to 3 years in prison.
Maikel was targeted for a blog article he wrote detailing army violations from the start of the Jan 25 revolution until the time of writing. His charge? Insulting the military institution!
Maikel is a pacifist, a conscientious objector and part of a movement called “No to compulsory conscription”. He wrote some controversial articles in the past in support of Israel, and during the Jan 25 revolution, he posted a “message to Israel calling for solidarity with the Egyptian revolution“.
While the majority of rights activists and organizations in Egypt are defending him, offering moral and practical support, some remain conflicted about him because of his pro-Israel stance. The powers that be always choose controversial victims for such cases, mainly to divide public opinion over dissidents in general. Remember Karim Amer? Now, as then, the message to all Egyptians is the same: that you’re being kept under close watch and that your freedoms are negotiable.
As an Egyptian citizen, and as a believer in the non-negotiability of freedom of thought and expression, I stand:
in solidarity with Maikel Nabil;
against military courts for civilians;
for freedom of thought and expression as absolute and universal rights.
As a gesture of solidarity, my last post mirrors the article for which Maikel is serving time in prison. I urge you to do the same.
